Civitas University is among the leaders in internationalization in Poland. We proudly host students from over 60 countries and offer a broad selection of programs taught in English. We also maintain partnerships with more than 90 Erasmus+ universities and over 40 bilateral partner institutions around the world. Our academic staff includes renowned lecturers from leading universities, and we actively participate in numerous international research projects.

Each semester, we welcome international students and encourage our students to take part in study abroad opportunities. Erasmus+ students from partner institutions enjoy equal academic rights as Civitas University students and become an integral part of our academic community.

The Erasmus+ Programme—the European Union’s flagship initiative for education, training, youth, and sport (2021–2027)—is a cornerstone of our international strategy. It enables student and staff mobility, strengthens cooperation with partner institutions, and fosters cultural exchange across borders.

All exchange students at Civitas University may choose from a wide range of courses taught in English and Polish across various degree programs. Each academic year, we offer approximately 200 courses in English, and incoming students can also take Polish as a foreign language. Typically, students earn 30 ECTS credits per semester. Civitas University fully adheres to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).

To support adaptation and integration, our staff and student organizations offer practical assistance and peer support through initiatives like the Buddy Programme, ensuring that all incoming students feel at home from day one.

Grading scale

The grading scale at Civitas University is available here: Description of the institutional grading scale

Please note that each lecturer has the autonomy to define the assessment criteria for their course, including the weighting of individual components that contribute to the final grade (e.g., active participation, homework, project work, presentations, essays, final exam, etc.).

As such, the final grade may reflect a student’s performance across the entire semester—not solely the result of the final exam. In particular, the percentage-to-grade conversion for the final exam may differ from the indicative scale provided in the general grading guidelines.

Detailed information about the assessment criteria for each course is available in the course syllabus.
