Mathematical physicist, specializing in solvable nonlinear mathematical models of physical phenomena. Assistant Professor at the Andrzej Soltan Institute for Nuclear Studies (Theoretical Physics Department, Warsaw University). Visiting Professor at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada (1987/88), visiting researcher and speaker at the University of Montreal (visits in 1989, 1990, 2002, 2004, 2009); lecturer at University of Vinh, Vietnam, in 2005. Author of papers on nonlinear plasma physics, optics and articles on integrability of evolution equations, published in various international journals. Author of the monographic handbook (with Cao Long Van) A Concise Course in Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations (2008). One of the organizers (Head in 2004–2008) and co-author of questions in the Polish-Ukrainian Physics Competition “Lion Cub”. Member of the Editorial Board of a popular scientific journal “Delta”. At Collegium Civitas he teaches the course entitled Statistics.
