A professor of cultural history at the University of Oslo, she has lectured at the European Institute in Florence and the University of Galway (Ireland), as well as guest lectured at Stanford University and the University of Cambridge.

Nina Witoszek made her debut as the “Irish writer” Nina FitzPatrick with a collection of short stories titled *Fables of the Irish Intelligentsia* (2003), for which she received the prestigious “The Irish Times” and Aer Lingus awards. She is the author of numerous works and books about Scandinavia, as well as film scripts. She has also collaborated with the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo.

In 2005, she received an award from the chairman of the Norwegian Freedom of Expression Foundation for bringing an Eastern European perspective to public debate in Scandinavia.

She became the first Polish woman to become a regular columnist and commentator in Norway’s largest newspaper, *Aftenposten*. She was listed as one of the top ten most prominent intellectuals living in Norway in a 2006 list compiled by the Norwegian newspaper *Dagbladet*.

Professor Nina Witoszek’s latest academic publications include: *Sustainable Modernity: The Nordic Model and Beyond* (Routledge 2018); *The Origins of Anti-Authoritarianism* (Routledge 2019; Polish trans. *Korzenie Anty-autorytaryzmu*, Scholar 2020), and – planned for 2023 – *Norske tillitspatologier* (Norwegian Trust Pathologies), co-written with Eva Joly (Oslo: Cappelen Academic).
