Dr Agnieszka Nitza-Makowska, Collegium Civitas lecturer and supervisor of International relations and Asian Studies at our university will present the results of her research at the conference “Climate Change, Energy, and Sustainability in the Pacific Region: Knowledge, Policies, and Transfers (1970s – Present)” hosted by the German Institute for Japanese Studies, Tokyo. We invite you to participate in the conference which will be held online between April 19 and 22.

The four-day interdisciplinary conference seeks to explore the historical development of attitudes towards climate change and environmental degradation within various Pacific Rim countries, as well as interactions between their climate, energy, and environmental policies.

Among the speakers: dr Agnieszka Nitza-Makowska, renowned expert in Asian studies, supervisor of International relations and Asian Studies at Collegium Civitas. Dr Nitza-Makowska will present the topic: Environmental policies as soft power: Can environmental policies help Beijing’ win hearts and minds’ in Asia’s Pacific Rim?
