From April 7 to 11, 2025, Civitas University welcomed Dr. Mazhar Islam Rahman from Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, Türkiye, as part of the Erasmus+ teaching mobility program.
Throughout the week, Dr. Rahman conducted several engaging academic sessions, offering students a unique international perspective. The classes included:
- Advanced Qualitative Research (with Dr. Katarzyna Iwińska)
- Socio-Political Geography of Terrorism (with Dr. Monika Nowicka)
- Microsociology (with Dr. Monika Nowicka)
Dr Rahman also gave lecture and had a meeting with Asian Economy Center led by Dr. Katarzyna Skiert-Romańczuk
Dr. Rahman took part in a range of academic and institutional activities. He met with Dr. Monika Nowicka, Head of the Department of Sociology, for a discussion on current research initiatives and departmental collaboration. He also visited the International Relations Office, where conversations focused on the education system in Türkiye, the Erasmus+ programme, and challenges related to student mobility and visa processes. Dr. Rahman was also interviewed by RadioPałacc, where he spoke about his academic background, research interests, and the socio-political landscape in Türkiye.
It’s also worth noticing that Dr Rahman took part in the ceremony of our University name change, which was definitely a very memorable moment for all of us, and it was a huge pleasure that we could share this moment with our guest.
We were delighted to host Dr. Rahman and look forward to future collaborations under the Erasmus+ programme.
