Kamil Zubelewicz PhD, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Collegium Civitas has become a new member of the Monetary Policy Council (RPP)

According to the Chancellery of the President, President Andrzej Duda has appointed, amongst others, Dr Kamil Zubelewicz (Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Collegium Civitas) to the Monetary Policy Council as of 20 February 2016.

The decision to appoint Dr Kamil Zubelewicz was signed by the president on Wednesday 17 February.

The terms of existing RPP members, Prof. A. Glapiński and Prof. A. Kaźmierczak, appointed by the late President Lech Kaczyński come to an end on 19 February 2016. Jerzy Osiatyński was appointed to the RPP by the then President Bronisław Komorowski on 20 December 2013 to replace Prof. Zyta Gilowska who had earlier resigned from the Council.

The Monetary Policy Council comprises the president of the central bank, the Narodowy Bank Polski (National Bank of Poland), who chairs the Council, and nine members appointed in equal numbers by the President, the Sejm (lower chamber of parliament) and the Senate (upper chamber of parliament). The term of office for RPP members is six years.
