The Collegium Civitas Centre for Research on Terrorism cordially invites you to a SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE entitled “TERRORISM AND MEDICINE” which will take place on 25 April 2018 from 8 am to 4.20 pm, in Lecture Theatre A of Collegium Civitas (12th floor of the Palace of Culture and Science).

Terrorist attacks are increasingly becoming a reality in today’s world and has become a challenge for medical services. Issues related to the medical aspects of terrorism constitute a vast, multidisciplinary branch of knowledge, combining elements of disaster medicine (mass events), organization of emergency medical systems, clinical disciplines (specificity of injuries), forensic medicine, organization of the victim identification process and clinical psychology. The area of health threats is extremely wide and includes chemical, biological, and radiation threats, as well as injuries related to the use of firearms, explosives, white weapons and transportation.

The conference will be held under the aegis of Mazovian Regional Consultant in the field of emergency medicine, Grzegorz Michalak, PhD.

The aim of the conference is to present threats and exchange of views and practical experience on the medical aspects of terrorism. During the conference there will be presentations by experts in the field of terrorism and medicine in the context of broadly understood threats including medical protection.

The conference will be of interest to the following people:

  • doctors, paramedics, nurses, health workers,
  • army, police, fire brigade, people related to crisis management,
  • everyone interested in the medical aspects of terrorism.

Participation in the conference is free of charge.
