Interdependence of security threats

Dr Katarzyna Maniszewska: In March 2023 Institute for Economics and Peace published the annual report “Global Terrorism Index 2023” (GTI). When we compare the data with the “Ecological Threat Report 2022” and “The Global Peace Index 2022”, it is clearly visible how security threats radiate and enhance each other: violent conflicts, ecological threats, and terrorism are deeply interconnected.

Dr Paulina Piasecka: The great AI revolution has already started, regardless of whether we want to believe it. And yes, we have yet to see general intelligence in machines. Yes, we still have the last say when making important decisions. But how long will it last? Alas, we have the natural tendency to trust machines. They don't feel; they only think - and we know that emotions often make us as fallible and flawed as we are.
