Can I apply to Civitas University as a foreign/international student?
Suppose you are an exchange student from a university that has a student exchange agreement with Civitas University, and your home institution has formally selected you. In that case, you may study at Civitas University free of charge. You can enroll in courses of your choice (or recommended by your university), taught in English or in Polish (if your language proficiency allows it).

Contact the International Office (or equivalent unit) or the departmental exchange coordinator at your home university. If there is an exchange agreement with Civitas University, they will provide you with all the necessary information and application deadlines.

If no agreement exists, you may consider applying to the One Semester Programme (tuition-fee-based).

Can I apply as a non-exchange student to programs or courses taught in English at Civitas University?
Yes. Civitas University offers the One Semester Programme for non-exchange students who wish to study for one semester, complete approximately 30 ECTS, participate in extracurricular activities, meet Civitas University students, and enjoy life in Warsaw.
Please note: This programme does not grant students’ rights in Poland (no student ID). Students who hold an active student status at their home university are encouraged to obtain an ISIC card, which provides student discounts.

Can I receive a scholarship or grant from Civitas University to fund my stay in Poland?
Erasmus+ students receive their scholarship from their home university and do not pay tuition fees at Civitas University.
Students coming under bilateral exchange agreements also do not pay tuition fees at CU.
If you are not an Erasmus+ or bilateral exchange student, please seek possible scholarships through foundations or external institutions.

EU citizens participating in Erasmus+ or exchange programmes do not require a visa.

How do I find accommodation in Warsaw?
Civitas University does not provide on-campus housing. We cooperate with several Warsaw-based housing providers. More details can be found here.
You may rent a flat or a room in a student apartment (shared by students) or a room in a flat occupied by the owners. We recommend student apartments due to greater independence.
Always check the flat personally before signing a contract.
Accommodation in Warsaw costs approximately 400–800 EUR/month, depending on location and standard.
Finding a flat may take time — you may need temporary accommodation in a hostel (we recommend Oki Doki Hostel, close to Civitas University).

What is the Polish currency?
The official currency in Poland is the Polish złoty (PLN). Although card payments are widely accepted, it is advisable to have some PLN in cash upon arrival—for example, for public transport tickets, small purchases, or situations where cards may not be accepted. You can withdraw PLN from ATMs across the city or exchange currency at reputable exchange offices (kantor) once you arrive.

How do I get my student ID?
Your Student ID will be issued after the beginning of the academic year. It entitles you to reduced rates on public transportation, museum admissions, and selected services.

How can I enroll for courses and find my timetable?
Log in to the Student Online Services platform.
Your login details will be provided by Civitas University staff.
The platform includes your class schedule, grades, course materials, and other essential academic information.
When do the adaptation days start?
Adaptation Days are usually held during the first week of the semester. For detailed information, please contact the International Relations Office.
We encourage students to arrive in Poland a few days ahead of the semester. Student societies and the Buddy Programme often organize activities before classes officially start.

What is the wi-fi password at Civitas University?
You will receive a code card together with your Student ID. The codes provide access to the Wi-Fi network, computer lab, university email, and online student resources.
