Dr. Anna Kuczyńska

Anna Kuczyńska holds a PhD in Social Sciences (Sociology) from the University of Warsaw, where she also earned her M.A. degree in Sociology. She is a graduate of the Polish School of Reportage at the Institute of Reportage in Warsaw. Her doctoral dissertation, “Information Society and Digital Exclusion of Individuals 50+ in Poland”, was supervised by Professor Jerzy Bartkowski and explored the dynamics of digital inequality among older adults in the context of Poland’s digital transformation.

Her academic interests focus on digital sociology, online ethnography, and digital competencies, with particular emphasis on the social consequences of digital exclusion and the use of data in social research.

Dr. Kuczyńska is Assistant Professor at Civitas University, where she teaches a range of courses in the area of social research methodology, including: Statistics for Social Research, Quantitative Data Analysis (SPSS/R), Advanced Quantitative Research, and Online Ethnography: Research and Ethics. She received the Rector’s Award for Excellence in Teaching for the academic year 2023/2024.

She is Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Res Publica Nowa and a member of the editorial board of the peer-reviewed journal Zoon Politikon. She also collaborates with Visegrad Insight and is actively engaged in public debate on digital literacy and civic participation in the digital era.

Before joining Civitas University full-time, she worked as an instructor at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology and conducted applied research projects for some of Poland’s leading cultural institutions, including: Copernicus Science Centre, Zachęta National Gallery of Art, Wawel Royal Castle, POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, and the Museum of Municipal Engineering. Her research combines both quantitative and qualitative methods.
