Changes in the Academic Leadership of Civitas University

As of 1 October 2025, Civitas University announces a change in its leadership team. Professor Michał Szostak, who has until now served as Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and continues as Head of the Institute for Management Research at Civitas University, will now assume the position of Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Affairs, combining two key areas of responsibility. Prof. Szostak is also an internationally recognized concert organist and improviser. We warmly wish him every success in carrying out this important mission for the university.

At the same time, we extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Katarzyna Maniszewska, who today concludes her term as Vice-Rector for International Relations, a position she has held with dedication for many years. During her tenure, Dr. Maniszewska played a pivotal role in shaping the international profile of Civitas University and promoting the university’s presence in global networks.

Dr. Maniszewska is continuing her academic and research work. She is a member of the Scientific Council of the Terrorism Research Center at Civitas University, co-editor of the Security and Society in the Information Age series, and the author of several books, including Radicalization at High Speed. Terrorism and the Media in the Age of AI (Civitas Press, 2025). In 2025, she was awarded the prestigious Fulbright-NATO Security Studies Award and is currently conducting her research in Washington DC.

We would like to thank Dr. Maniszewska for her invaluable contribution, commitment, and vision, which have left a lasting mark on our academic community. Her efforts strengthened our global profile, fostered cooperation with partner institutions worldwide, and supported the international mobility of students and staff. We wish her continued success in her research and academic endeavors.
