In June 2025, two distinguished members of Civitas University’s academic community—Dr. Kerry Longhurst and Prof. Małgorzata Baran—took part in high-level international events, contributing their expertise to discussions on civil society, innovation, and academic cooperation.

Dr. Kerry Longhurst was invited to speak at the European Parliament during a session devoted to civil society in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) region. The event, held in cooperation with the EaP Civil Society Forum, focused on the critical role of inclusive civic engagement in building democratic resilience and accountable governance. Dr. Longhurst highlighted the promising developments in Ukraine and Moldova, noting that both countries are making important strides on their path toward European integration.

Meanwhile, Prof. Małgorzata Baran participated in the 22nd Academy of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Knowledge (ACIEK) Conference, hosted by the University of Alcalá in Spain from June 18–20, 2025. Themed “AI Beyond the Frontiers of Technology and Knowledge,” the conference gathered scholars and practitioners from around the world. This marks Prof. Baran’s sixth participation in ACIEK, a conference she praised for its inspiring atmosphere, enduring academic connections, and spirit of collaboration.

Civitas University is proud to see its faculty actively engaged in shaping research, policy, and international dialogue across Europe.
