On May 15, 2025, Civitas University hosted an engaging guest lecture by Dr. Bożena Leven, an esteemed economist specializing in international trade and development. The event brought together students and faculty interested in the complex relationship between politics and economics.

Dr. Leven’s lecture, titled “Impact of American 2025 Politics on its Economy,” examined the economic consequences of the evolving U.S. political landscape. She offered a detailed analysis of recent policy shifts and their anticipated effects on both domestic and global markets. Key topics included the potential weakening of the U.S. dollar due to declining international confidence, the economic impact of tariff policies, particularly on employment and small businesses, and the role of immigration in shaping labor market dynamics and competitiveness.

Dr. Leven holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University and has worked with institutions such as the United Nations, the World Bank, and the Ford Foundation. She has held academic leadership roles in both the U.S. and Poland, including at the College of New Jersey and the Warsaw School of Economics.

The lecture was part of Civitas University’s commitment to providing students with global perspectives on pressing economic and political issues.
