On Wednesday, 5 November 2025, the Institute for Management Research at Civitas University, under the leadership of Professor Michał Szostak, held an online kick-off meeting for a new scientific project, “Art of Management: Humanistic and Aesthetic Paradigms for ESG and Economy 5.0”.

This project aims to explore how the art of management, aesthetic leadership, intercultural sensibilities, temporal dynamics of organisational and institutional life, and the cultural responsibility of organisations can reshape management theory and practice in line with the ESG principles and the human-centred vision of Economy 5.0. Building on contributions in humanistic management and management aesthetics, the project seeks to address how leadership, organisational, and symbolic practices can create or sustain dignity, resonance, and authentic meaning across diverse cultural and temporal contexts on the micro (self), mezzo (organisations), macro (institutions), and meta (societies) levels.

Almost 40 researchers from varied disciplines (management, philosophy, aesthetics, art, cultural studies, psychology, sociology, political studies, administration, diplomacy, economics, finance, security, sustainability, media studies) from Algeria, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Spain, the UK, and the USA started collaboration on research work, of which three edited monographs that the world’s top publishing houses will publish by the end of 2026.

The project is led by Prof. Michał Szostak, Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Affairs at Civitas University.
