On April 3–4, 2025, Dr. Michał Bardel—wine expert and Head of the Postgraduate Program in Wine Studies at Civitas University—delivered guest lectures at Krems University of Applied Sciences in Austria. His visit was organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ program and formed part of the university’s Teaching Days initiative, which brings together lecturers from across Europe to share expertise and foster cross-cultural academic exchange.
Dr. Bardel conducted a full-day seminar for third-year students of the International Wine Business program, focusing on two key topics: the evolution and current state of the Polish wine industry, and the role of the VDP association in shaping the German wine market. The Polish wine market—a relatively undiscovered subject in the broader wine discourse—sparked particular curiosity among students, many of whom were unfamiliar with its history and growing international potential.
The lectures took place in a seminar room housed in the atmospheric cellars of Gozzoburg Castle, providing an exceptional setting for the exchange of ideas. The visit also included conversations with Krems University faculty, particularly Prof. Albert Stoeckl, regarding future cooperation and possible guest lectures at Civitas University.
Dr. Bardel’s participation not only highlighted Poland’s growing presence in the global wine industry but also strengthened academic ties and international collaboration in the field of wine business education.
