The partners of the SIMPLE project convened in Pescara, Italy, on 29 October 2025 for the second Transnational Project Meeting (TPM), hosted by IDP European Consultants. The meeting focused on reviewing and finalizing the results of Work Package 2 (WP2), dedicated to assessing existing evidence and laying the groundwork for a new inclusion model supporting displaced individuals.
Civitas University was represented at the meeting by Dr. Vanessa Tinker and Dr. Monika Nowicka, who engaged in discussions on research results, methodological approaches, and key components of the developing model. In addition to their involvement, the Civitas University project team includes Prof. Krzysztof Kasianiuk and Dr. Paweł Kuczyński. The project is led at Civitas University by Prof. Michał Szostak, Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Affairs.
Co-funded by the European Union under ESF+, the SIMPLE project aims to develop and test innovative approaches to social inclusion and civic participation, fostering stronger cooperation between institutions, communities, and citizens. The initiative focuses particularly on strengthening support mechanisms for Ukrainian refugees, enhancing their integration, empowerment, and engagement in host societies.
During the meeting, project partners discussed the achievements of WP2, including the evaluation of qualitative and quantitative indicators and the refinement of the Theory of Change. These discussions ensured the final deliverables are ready for submission to the funding agency. The consortium confirmed the key outcomes of WP2, creating a strong basis for the next phase of the project.
The agenda also covered progress and planning across additional work packages, including:
- Stakeholder mapping (WP3)
- Pilot design and implementation (WP4)
- Communication and dissemination strategies (WP5)
The meeting concluded with a collaborative session on Quality Assurance, followed by a summary of decisions and planning of upcoming milestones.
