The inaugural Virtual European Classroom is part of a range of activities at Collegium Civitas organised by the EU-funded Jean Module ‘Debating Europe: Internal and External Dimensions of European Integration’ (DEBUE), which is directed by Dr Kerry Longhurst.
The Virtual European Classroom will bring together students from Collegium Civitas (Poland), the European Humanities University (Lithuania) and Tbilisi State University (Georgia).
Students will present and discuss their ideas and perspectives on critical questions to do with (i) European Security: EU values, power and policy competencies and the pros- and cons of a feminist EU foreign policy (ii) EU Enlargement: State of play in the Western Balkans, membership prospects for Moldova and Ukraine’s EU accession and Georgia’s readiness for EU candidate status (iii) Rule of Law and Democracy: The EU as a promotor of democracy and the rule of law beyond its borders, prerequisites for sustainable democracy in the Eastern neighborhood and issues to do with social inclusion and anti-discrimination.
The Virtual European Classroom with kick-off at 09.45 CET (until 1 pm) on Tuesday 30 May on Zoom, it is a public event.
