Joanna Berendt, a supervisor of Bachelor programme Journalism and New Media at Collegium Civitas and a journalist for The New York Times. She graduated from Goldsmiths, University of London (Media and Sociology). Joanna’s journalistic career began in London in 2006, where she worked as a reporter and editor for, among others, Polish Express, Laif, Panorama and Cooltura. Her work has appeared in multiple Polish and international print and online media outlets, including “The New York Times,” “Polska The Times,” “Gazeta Wyborcza,” “Wprost,” “Obserwator Finansowy,” “Svenska Dagbladet” and “Das Magazine.” Joanna also served for three years as a senior news desk and homepage editor for Gazeta.pl, one of the biggest Polish web portals. She has been collaborating with “The New York Times” since 2010 and became a full-time staff member at the Warsaw Bureau in 2014.
