Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People

In 1977 the General Assembly called for the annual observation of November 29 as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. To commemorate the Solidarity Day on November 15, the Center for Research on Social and Economic Risks, Collegium Civitas, in cooperation with the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Poland, organized the debate on the “Role of International Community in Salvaging the Two States Solution”. Ambassador Dr. Amal Jadou, Deputy Minister of MFA Palestine, and the Palestinian Ambassador to Poland, Dr. Mahmoud Khalifa, attended the discussion.

„We are delighted that we could welcome to the seminar ambassadors, representatives of academia, NGOs and, of course, our students” – says Dr. Agnieszka Bukowska, the Director of the Center for Research on Social and Economic Risks, Collegium Civitas.

The panel discussed the international community’s commitment to upholding the Palestinian people’s rights and building a future of peace. The discussion featured Minister Jadou, Mr. Michał Wojnarowicz, an analyst Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM), Mr. Adam Dziedzic, President of the Board of the United Nations Association Poland UNA) and Dr. Magdalena El Ghamari, Head of Cultural Security Unit in The Center for Research on Social and Economic Risks CC.

Dr. El Ghamari, one of the seminar’s organizers and moderator, concludes – “The panel discussion showed clearly that reconciliation is not only possible but needed in all stages of the conflict”.
