In November 2023, Vanessa Tinker visited the Politics and International Relations Department at Üsküdar University in Istanbul, Türkiye. The visit was part of a teaching mobility programme under the EU-funded Erasmus+. Dr Tinker provided an intensive introductory lecture on international conflict analysis to BA IR students and faculty.

The lecture included an in-depth look at the conceptualization of conflict and international conflict analysis, overview of key analytical tools, followed by an engaging discussion with students and faculty on ongoing contemporary conflicts in Ukraine, Syria, and Israel, comparing and contrasting the international community’s responses.

Dr. Tinker also discussed with Head of the Turkish Political Science and International Relations Department, Dr. Selin Dingiloğlu the possibility of collaborating with Collegium Civitas for future research projects and Erasmus+ exchanges.

Upon reflection, Dr. Tinker shared, “the Erasmus+ teaching mobility programme provides faculty an incredible opportunity to visit other universities to compare and contrast their experiences, exchange ideas, gain new insight, and develop new networks for possible future project collaboration.”
