In February, our lecturer and researcher, Ms. Katarzyna Skiert-Andrzejuk, embarked on a research journey to the United States as a component of the project “Environmental Diplomacy as a Soft Power Instrument: China and the Belt and Road Initiative”. The project has been carried out at Collegium Civitas since 2021 under the guidance of Dr. Agnieszka Nitza-Makowska (PI) with the participation of Dr. Kerry Longhurst and Ms. Katarzyna Skiert-Andrzejuk herself.

During her research expedition, Ms. Skiert-Andrzejuk visited prestigious institutions such as the Wilson Center, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Additionally, she had the privilege of exploring Stanford University in California, where she engaged in fruitful discussions with scholars and experts. These exchanges delved deep into the intricacies of Chinese environmental diplomacy and its profound implications for the geopolitical landscape of Central Asia.

Environmental Diplomacy as a Soft Power Instrument: China and the Belt and Road Initiative,” is conducted within the framework of the SONATA grant funded by the National Science Centre.
