STATEMENT

FROM THE ACADEMIC COMMUNITY ON THE RUSSIAN AGGRESSION AGAINST UKRAINE

Given Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine constituting a brutal breach of international agreements and standards binding in the civilised world, the Polish academic community strongly condemns the attack on our neighbour and the use of violence against them.

We express our absolute solidarity with the entire Ukrainian nation and our support for Ukraine as a sovereign state. We pledge all possible assistance in these difficult times. At the same time, we appeal to the authorities of the Ministry of Education and Science to mobilise, in cooperation with the National Agency for Academic Exchange, special resources, including legal resources, to support Ukrainian scientists, doctoral students and students who express a desire to continue their activities in Polish universities.

The Polish academic community will further intensify and develop cooperation in all forms with our Ukrainian academic partners.
