Dr Anaïs Marin was awarded a Marie Curie fellowship (MSCA-IF, 2015-2017) to conduct research at Collegium Civitas and at the Warsaw Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW) on the diplomacy of authoritarian regimes in post-Soviet Eurasia. She holds her PhD in political science from Sciences Po Paris/CERI (2006), where she studied IR, international public law and transitology. She has lectured Russian studies at Clermont-Ferrand University (France), legal translation at the International Lomonosov Centre (Geneva branch of the Moscow State University), and border studies, with a focus on Central and Eastern European borderlands, at the Aleksanteri Institute (University of Helsinki). In 2011 she joined the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA, Helsinki) as Belarus desk with the EU’s Eastern neighbourhood and Russia programme. She published several policy papers and commissioned studies on Belarus, the Eastern Partnership and Russia’s Eurasian policies, including for the European Parliament, and is involved in various experts’ groups and networks on Belarus. Married, one child. In her free time she studies Polish, reads comic books and plays the saxophone.
