In this lecture, Professor Collins—an internationally recognized scholar in critical management studies and the author of numerous works on the so-called excellence project—will offer a bold reinterpretation of the In Search of Excellence phenomenon that has influenced management thinking for over forty years. Drawing on the theory of bullshit and narrative analysis, he will critique both the core assumptions of the project and the academic responses it has generated.
The lecture will open a broader discussion on prevailing notions of “excellence” in management, inviting reflection on the aesthetic and ethical dimensions of contemporary organizational practices.
The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion with:
– Professor Monika Kostera (University of Warsaw and Södertörn University, Sweden)
– Professor Jerzy Kociatkiewicz (Institut Mines-Télécom Business School, Palaiseau, France)
– Professor Michał Szostak (Civitas University)
🔸 The event will be conducted entirely in English.
🔸 Admission is free.
🔸 All are warmly welcome!
