Who watches reality shows today—and why? Where do leaders come from? What is gender? Why are social movements like Slow Life gaining momentum? What do matrimonial ads reveal about changing social norms? If these questions intrigue you, sociology is your field.

This program offers more than just answers—it equips you with the tools to critically understand society and influence its future. You will learn to observe, analyze, and interpret how the world around you works using sociological theory and modern research methods. While sociology is a general academic program, practical skills—particularly those developed in specialization courses—are grounded in advanced disciplinary knowledge and the research toolkit of a sociologist.

The curriculum is carefully balanced, offering both general academic knowledge and applied skills through practical workshops and specialization courses. You will gain practical experience in designing research, analyzing data, and addressing contemporary challenges—from digitalization and environmental transitions to social inequalities and communication in multicultural teams. All of this takes place within the vibrant, international community of Collegium Civitas, where both students and faculty bring global experience into the classroom.

The program has consistently earned high marks in national rankings—ranked 1st among sociology programs at non-public universities and 5th overall in the 2024 Perspektywy ranking. It is also among the top in the ELA system, which tracks graduate career paths and earnings in Poland.
