We are pleased to announce the publication of a new paper co-authored by Dr. Anna Kuczyńska, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs at Civitas University, together with Dr. Jordan Klimek and Dr. Izabela Szamrej-Baran (University of Szczecin) and Prof. Vjosa Hajdari (University “Haxhi Zeka”). The article, titled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Improving the Efficiency of Managing the Process of Collecting Empirical Data in Field Research” (2025), examines how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can enhance the effectiveness of social-science research processes.
The authors analyze the application of AI at key stages of research — from conceptualization and operationalization to data collection and ethical decision-making. Drawing on literature and case studies, they demonstrate how AI tools can support researchers in formulating research questions, coordinating fieldwork, and analyzing results.
The paper also highlights the challenges of integrating AI into social research, including the lack of algorithmic transparency, risks of bias, potential dehumanization of research processes, and the need to balance AI with traditional qualitative and quantitative methods. The authors emphasize that methodological standards and ethical safeguards are essential to ensure responsible and reliable use of AI in the social sciences.
The article appears in Intelligent Management and Artificial Intelligence: Trends, Challenges, and Opportunities, Vol.1 — a peer-reviewed monograph published by WNUS Publishing House as part of the 28th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI 2025), held in Bologna, Italy. The Intelligent Management (InMan) workshop, during which the paper was presented, brought together experts exploring how AI and intelligent management systems are transforming organizations, research, and societies across Europe and beyond.
The publication reflects Civitas University’s ongoing commitment to advancing interdisciplinary research at the intersection of technology, management, and the social sciences.
