We are pleased to share that Civitas University was an academic and organizational partner of the international scientific conference Sustainable and Socially Responsible Development in the Network of Socioeconomic Relations, which took place one month ago in Gdańsk.
The event, hosted by WSB Merito University in Gdańsk, brought together nearly 100 scholars from 17 countries, representing diverse academic disciplines and regional perspectives.

The conference aimed to foster interdisciplinary debate on sustainable and socially responsible development—understood as the integration of economic, social, and environmental priorities in response to the challenges of today’s world. Topics included governance, public policy, education, new technologies, social responsibility, and international cooperation.

Civitas University was proudly represented by its experts and faculty members:

  • Dr. Katarzyna Iwińska (Institute of Sociology), who presented a paper titled “Women’s Energy Citizenship: Barriers, Strategies, and Gendered Perspectives in Poland’s Energy Transition”, focusing on women’s roles and attitudes in the decarbonization process and climate challenges.
  • Dr. Muhammad Kamran
  • Prof. Małgorzata Baran
  • Dr. Marek Troszyński

All presented their research findings during thematic conference sessions.
A key highlight of the event was the Meet the Editors session on publishing in international academic journals, moderated by Prof. Michał Szostak, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research at Civitas University.

Participation in such events is a vital element of Civitas University’s commitment to internationalizing its research activities and underscores our dedication to advancing scholarship that contributes to a more sustainable and socially responsible future.
