Over the course of almost seven decades, the Eurovision song contest has evolved into a unique event in Europe’s cultural calendar. From its origins as a flagship of European broadcasting and an illustration of post-war integration, the contest has not only grown in the number of countries competing but has also become provocative and politically charged. In our podcast we talk about the 2024 contest, which proved to be the most controversial edition yet – with politics at centre stage! The guests of Dr Kerry Longhurst, leader of the DEBUE project, were: Adam Rogowski, Kinga Boćkowska, and Justyna Kampka.
This podcast was produced in Collegium Civitas as part of the DEBUE project: „Debating Europe: Internal and External Dynamics of European Integration„. The project is co-funded by the European Union under Jean Monnet Programme.
