THE “LEADERS OF DIGITAL DIDACTICS” PROJECT SUMMARY: CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS

On Monday, January 29th, 2024, Collegium Civitas, in collaboration with its partners from Reykjavik University and VID Specialized University (Oslo), hosted a conference to sum up the two-year international project “Leaders of Digital Didactics”

The conference showcased the outcomes of the “Leaders of Digital Didactics – development of management faculty teaching staff” project. The discussion focused on two key subjects:

  • academic education in light of the rapidly evolving landscape of educational technologies and AI-based solutions.
  • the evolving role of didactic staff and the enhancement of competencies among academic faculty.

The event commenced with an opening address by Professor Małgorzata Baran Head of the Management Department at Collegium Civitas and Project Leader, who outlined the project’s initiatives and achievements. Proceeding with the agenda, the following distinguished guest speakers shared their insights:

  • Ari Jonsson, former Rector of Reykjavik University, a scientist and an expert in AI, with a rich history of collaboration with institutions such as NASA and NATO.
  • Krzysztof Wojewodzic, CEO of Escola S.A., expert in educational technologies, and co-creator of the Duolingo language learning app.
  • Beata Karpińska-Musiał, Assistant Professor and Vice President of University of Gdańsk Center for Development of Teaching and Tutoring, actively engaged in advancing competencies of didactic staff.
  • Olga Lewkowicz-Ludyga, Teaching Methodology specialist, Deputy Director of the Center for Modern Didactics at the Gdańsk University of Technology, dedicated to enhancing teaching competencies.

The conference gathered 106 participants and it concluded with a panel discussion, providing students with the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers.
