COLLEGIUM CIVITAS CELEBRATES THE RECTOR’S RE-ELECTION AND CHARTS PATH TO FUTURE GROWTH

On May 9th, the Rector of Collegium Civitas, Professor Stanisław Mocek, was re-elected for another term. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Professor Stanisław Mocek on behalf of the staff, lecturers, and students, wishing him success in implementing the University’s strategies and charting paths for further development.

Professor Stanisław Mocek has been associated with Collegium Civitas since its inception in 1997, initially serving as Vice-Rector from 1998 to 2012, and subsequently assuming the role of Rector since 2012.

Professor Mocek, a sociologist, political scientist, and media scholar, boasts a distinguished career, with notable achievements such as receiving scholarships from the Foundation for Polish Science and Oxford University and being honored with the Karl Popper Award. His expertise spans various domains, including the Polish political scene, media systems, electoral processes, leadership, and social opinion research.

In the new term, Collegium Civitas will embark on dynamic development initiatives, including the launch of a new five-year MA program in Law and additional specializations designed to equip graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills for success in the job market. Furthermore, the University will focus on enhancing research and educational development, fostering internationalization efforts, securing development funding, progressing in informatization, and expanding initiatives for student support and lifelong learning. These endeavors align with the University’s mission and vision for growth and excellence. The University will also prioritize obtaining doctoral and habilitation recognition to further enhance its academic standing and research capabilities.

Under the leadership of Professor Stanisław Mocek, the Rector’s Team, comprised of key academic and administrative personnel, including Magdalena Wypych (Chancellor), Professor Michał Szostak (Vice-Rector for Scientific Research), Dr. Katarzyna Maniszewska (Vice-Rector for International Relations), Dr. Paulina Piasecka (Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs), Dr. Paweł Maranowski (Vice-Rector for Student Affairs), and Teresa Wierzbowska (Rector’s Plenipotentiary for Lifelong Learning), will work diligently to realize these goals and uphold the University’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

Professor Mocek’s leadership extends beyond Collegium Civitas, as he serves as the Chair of the Conference of Rectors of Non-Public Academic Universities (KRAUN) and is a member of the Presidium of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP). These roles underscore his dedication to advancing higher education on a national level.
