Collegium Civitas at World Congress of Sociology

Between June 25 and July 1, the 20th ISA World Congress of Sociology took place in Melbourne, Australia. Collegium Civitas was represented by Dr Katarzyna Iwińska, Dr Marek Troszyński and Dr Dr Roland Zarzycki. In addition, Dr Jacek Bieliński co-authored a paper presented during the Congress.

Our faculty members presented the following topics of their research:

 

  • Dr dr Roland Zarzycki: “Transformations of Capital, Justification and Rationalization Structures” during the session Dynamics of Capitals and Social Inequality from the Rational Choice Perspective and “The Strategies of Pretense and Disguise As Norm-Destabilizing Factors” during the session Evolution of Social Norms and Cooperation.
  • Dr Marek Troszyński: “Refugees, Immigrants and Invaders. How the Language We Talk about Migrants Is Changing” in the working group The Interplay of Language, Migration and Mobility: Policy and Practice.
  • Dr Katarzyna Iwińska (co-author: Dr Jacek Bieliński): “You Can be Eco-Friendly but Not at Your Own Expense – Underlying the Fundamental Factors of Private-Sphere Pro-Environmental Behaviour in 5 European Countries” during the session: New research in environmental attitudes, values, behaviours and practices in the working group on Environment and Society.
