Our colleagues, Dr. Agnieszka Nitza-Makowska and Dr. Kerry Longhurst, recently returned from a fact-finding trip to Pakistan. This trip was part of the NCN-funded research project, “Environmental Diplomacy as a Soft Power Instrument: China and the Belt and Road Initiative,” financed under the SONATA program by the National Science Centre.

We are proud to announce the publication of a significant research report by the Collegium Civitas lecturers: Grzegorz Rzeczkowski, Dr. Przemysław Witkowski, and Dr. Dr. Roland Zarzycki. The article, published in the book "Dezinformacja w czasach kryzysu" ("Disinformation in Times of Crisis"), edited by Dr. Karina Stasiuk-Krajewska and  Dr. Michał Wenzel from SWPS Universityis availabe in English and in Polish. The whole book is published in Polish.

We are pleased to inform you that Collegium Civitas lecturer and researcher, Mrs. Katarzyna Skiert-Andrzejuk, has been appointed as the new Head of the Asian Economy Center. She has also assumed the role of Acting Head of English-Language Studies in the Department of International Relations.

Dr. Piasecka appointed as the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs

Dr. Paulina Piasecka was appointed Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Collegium Civitas. Dr. Piasecka is an expert in higher education and security studies; she previously served as Deputy Chair of the International Relations Department at our university. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Dr. Roland Zarzycki for his dedicated service and expertise as Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs (2016-2024).

On June 17-21, Collegium Civitas hosted a delegation from the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC). The participants of the visit were high-ranking officials of public administration and government agencies responsible for security. The plenary session was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Poland, HE Leah Basinang Ruiz, and the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski.

Collegium Civitas recently hosted two distinguished scholars as part of the Erasmus+ teaching mobility program.Dr. Agusdin Agip Jaelani from the University of Mataram, Indonesia, and Dr. Gülçin Tunç from Bursa Uludağ University, Turkey, met with the Head and Members of the Management Department and had a scientific meeting with the Institute for Management Research.

COLLEGIUM CIVITAS LECTURERS WIN THE PRESTIGIOUS ZYGMUNT BAUMAN AWARD

We are proud to announce that the winners of the first edition of the Zygmunt Bauman Award are the authors of the book „Społeczeństwo łatwopalne. Praktyki pomagania uchodźcom wojennym z Ukrainy w roku 2022 w Polsce” (“Flammable Society: Practices of Assisting War Refugees from Ukraine in Poland in 2022”), published by Collegium Civitas. The authors include Dr. Katarzyna Kalinowska, Dr. Paweł Kuczyński, Prof. Dr. Hab. Izabella Bukraba-Rylska, Katarzyna Krakowska, and Dr. Marta Sałkowska.
