We are pleased to formally announce the appointment of Professor Michał Szostak as the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research at Collegium Civitas. Professor Szostak also serves as the Head of the Institute for Management Research at Collegium Civitas and holds the position of Associate Professor (Doctor habilitated) specializing in management within the realm of social sciences.

The team from Collegium Civitas got 2nd place in the prestigious Nationwide University Project Management Games PMI PC, which the final took place on April 20, 2024, at the SGH Library. Congratulations to the "COLLEGIUM CIVITAS Team" composed of Gabriela Matus, Weronika Matuszyńska, Karolina Nowak, Piotr Sikora, and Michał Trzos – students specializing in Project and Process Management.

Katarzyna Anna Przybyła, lecturer at Collegium Civitas, is a co-editor (alongside Maureen P. Flaherty from the University of Manitoba in Canada) of the latest issue of the international journal "Peace Review," published by Taylor and Francis. Issue 36/1 (2024) is entirely dedicated to the Russian aggression against Ukraine and the ongoing war. Katarzyna A. Przybyła is also the author of two articles included in it.

The Rector of Collegium Civitas, Prof. Stanisław Mocek, and the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Paweł Maranowski, participated in the 17th Forum of Non-Public Universities, which took place in early April in Warsaw.

April 19, 2024 marks the 81st Anniversary of the Ghetto Uprising – when the Jews of Warsaw took up an armed struggle against the occupying Nazi Germans. On that day, they showed their bravery amidst no hope for victory. Facing annihilation, they chose to die with dignity. In April 2024, Collegium Civitas signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kenzhegali Sagadiev University of International Business (UIB) in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The MoU is a follow-up on the academic and research collaboration started by our lecturer, Mrs. Katarzyna Skiert-Andrzejuk.

We are thrilled to announce that the PIASA 9th World Congress, hosted at Collegium Civitas, has been granted an honorary patronage from the Minister of Science. This esteemed recognition highlights the significance of the Congress in the academic community and underscores Collegium Civitas's commitment to scholarly excellence.

On April 3rd-4th Dr. Dr. Roland Zarzycki, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Collegium Civitas participated in a study visit at the University of Utrecht. During his visit, Dr. Dr. Zarzycki took an active part in discussions organized by the International Association of Universities (IAU), which Collegium Civitas is a member of. The meetings were devoted to the Open Science movement.

The 2024 internationalization survey report "Internationalization in Higher Education: Current Trends and Future Scenarios”, prepared by the International Association of Universities (IAU), sheds light on key trends in global higher education, focusing on internationalization strategies and their impacts. As a member of the IAU, Collegium Civitas is proud to contribute to this comprehensive analysis.

The article, titled "Third War of Independence? The Anti-Colonial Dynamics of Ukraine’s Politics of Memory after 2014: A Case Study of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War in Kyiv", was written by Dr. Barbara Markowska-Marczak, a lecturer at Collegium Civitas, in collaboration with Professor Tomasz Stryjek from Collegium Civitas and Professor Joanna Konieczna-Sałamatin from the University of Warsaw.
