On October 23, 2024, in Washington D.C., the Magna Charta Universitatum (MCU) held its annual symposium titled "Universities, Governments, and Democracy: International Challenges and Lessons Learned." The MCU is a document that outlines principles of academic freedom and institutional autonomy. Collegium Civitas, a signatory of the MCU, was represented at the symposium by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Dr. Katarzyna Maniszewska.

The Collegium Civitas Institute for Management Research is launching a new research project for the 2024/2025 academic year, led by Professor Michał Szostak. The project, titled "Aesthetics of Humanistic Management in the Artificial Intelligence Era," will explore the ethical and aesthetic implications of AI in organizational settings.

On September 24th-29th Dr. Dr. Roland Zarzycki visited Vietnam National University in Hanoi within the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility framework. The Vietnam National University was founded in the year 1945, replacing the University of Indochina (1906), and today is one of the leading and most prestigious universities in Vietnam.

Dr. Katarzyna Maniszewska, Vice-Rector for International Relations at Collegium Civitas, is currently conducting research at the Program on Extremism at George Washington University as part of her prestigious Kosciuszko Foundation fellowship. In this interview, Dr. Maniszewska discusses her ongoing project on terrorism and the media, the impact of technological advancements on extremist organizations, and the importance of fostering Polish-American academic collaboration.

Collegium Civitas officially inaugurated the 2024/2025 Academic Year on September 30, 2024, with a hybrid event at the 6th Floor Theatre in the Palace of Culture and Science. Hosted by Karolina Lewicka, a long-time lecturer at the university, the ceremony welcomed distinguished guests, students, and members of the academic community, both in-person and online.

During the 2024 ESA Conference in Portugal, Dr. Katarzyna Iwińska visited the University of Porto, a long-term research partner of Collegium Civitas. The universities have collaborated on multiple projects, including the WISE initiative (2015-2017) and the PASSION project (2019-2022), both led by Dr. Iwińska.

Dr. Magdalena El Ghamari, a Collegium Civitas lecturer and expert in terrorism, Islamic extremism, and radicalisation, contributes to the pilot edition of the PPBW Review PLATFORM. In her featured article, "Immigrant Integration, Monitoring Early Signs of Radicalisation, and the Potential of Mentoring," she explores the complexities of immigrant integration and its role in preventing radicalisation.

Prof. Joanna Mizielińska, Collegium Civitas lecturer, and Prof. Danuta Uryga from the Maria Grzegorzewska University have co-authored an article titled "On the queer road: Parents’ reactions and strategies in response to their LGBTQI children’s coming out", published in the renowned scientific journal Children and Youth Services Review, issued by Elsevier.
